About
Jam Jawn — Private media transcription workspace.
Jam Jawn is a private, user-scoped workspace for uploading audio and video, running local transcription, refining transcripts, and exporting results in multiple formats.
What Jam Jawn Is
Jam Jawn lets you bring your own media — recordings, interviews, lectures, song ideas, meetings, podcasts, voice notes, and more — and turn them into usable, editable text.
Everything stays private to your account. Your sessions, transcripts, and files are never shared or indexed publicly. Processing uses local speech models (faster-whisper) running on the workspace infrastructure.
How It Works
Sign in, upload a supported file (.wav, .mp3, .m4a, .aac, .webm, .ogg, .opus, .flac, or MP4/MOV video), and choose a category. The system normalizes audio to MP3 for playback, queues the job, transcribes it, and assembles a complete session archive.
Once complete you get:
- Editable transcript (markdown + plain text + HTML + DOCX + PDF + XML)
- Original reference transcript
- Timeline data for playback sync and follow-along
- Optional music/score analysis for songwriting and lyric categories
- Video subtitle tracks (SRT + VTT + subtitled MP4) when source video is provided
- Full archive download and individual file exports
You can edit the working draft, save revisions, and keep the original for reference. All data is scoped to your account.
Design Philosophy
The workspace is built for people who work with spoken or sung material and need reliable, revisable text. Emphasis is on privacy, control, and flexibility: you decide how to use, remix, or publish anything you create here.
We provide tools. You own the results.
Supported Media & Output
Intake: wav, mp3, m4a, aac, webm, ogg, opus, flac, mp4, mov, m4v. Canonical playback artifact is MP3. Original sources can be preserved on request. All generated transcripts, timelines, and derived files belong to you and can be used however you want.
